If you’re looking for some indie multiplayer games for dirt cheap, Humble Bundle has you covered. One of this month’s bundles features up to seven multiplayer games. For $1 USD, you get Stick Fight: The Game, Rampage Knights, and Tumblestone. Stick Fight is a physics-based fighting game, Rampage Knights is a dungeon-crawl/beat-em-up, and Tumblestone is an action-puzzle game. None of the games take themselves too seriously, and should provide you and your friends with hours of silly fun.
If you pay more than the average amount, you’ll also get the more premium multiplayer games Besiege, Duck Game, and Hover. Besiege is a physics-based building game where you construct medieval siege engines and lay waste to castles and villages. You can be as creative or conventional as you like in your designs. Duck Game is a 2D platformer arena in which you and your friends play as ducks. Equip yourselves with dozens of crazy weapons and blow each other away. That’s pretty much all there is to it, but it has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam. It also features a level editor and online play. Hover is an open world parkour game with some cyberpunk elements, albeit bright and colorful rather than dark and gritty. Your job is to run around the city and bring down The Man by performing crazy tricks.
The prize pig in this bundle is Rocket League, which you get by paying $14 or more. Rocket League is basically soccer (fine, I’ll call it “football”), but with rocket-boosted vehicles in place of players. It’s a simple concept that should provide hours of physics-based fun and frustration while you try to get the ball into the goal, but sometimes the most basic premises are also the most fun.
This bundle’s featured charities are Extra Life, the Special Olympics, and Comic Relief. Extra Life aims to raise money for various children’s hospitals through marathon gaming (help sick kids by playing obscene amounts of games? I’d call that a win), Special Olympics supports sports programs and competition for people with intellectual disabilities, and Comic Relief is foundation provides grants to anti-poverty charities around the world. As always, you can support any charity of your choice by purchasing the bundle.
